I am a telegraph keys collector in Japan. There are my old keys. I collect keys especially <Japanese old keys>. But it 's difficult to get Japanese old keys rather than foreign keys for me! Anyway Please click on Violet Key Name. You can see full size photo ! Here is cyber Morse key museum.
There are many Old Japanese keys by many small key maker. But some old Japanese Army key were produced by same design like J-38 as in USA.
Today, Japanese keys are produced by only Hi-Mound, Kenpro and GHD Key.
This key was made for Army and Navy during W.W.II、very nice feel.Made by Taikou. This key have very thin wooden base on aluminum base. Black painted metal case can open.
Early electric keyer. This key was based on famous bug ,BK100,'1970. Require AC100V〜AC115V.
This key was unscrewed from old Japanese ship, Many keys like this type were bone in 1920〜1950、by many small key makers.
This key is <Hand key type No.2 MK II> by Maitsuru Navy factory '1945. Has Navy mark. JRC's KY-3A was based on this key.
Left one is US Liberty's sounder right one is old Hi Mound sounder ,it's called type post office key in Japan.
Made in '1960. Same model but different shaft. Has famous Swallow Logo.
The other one is Made in approx. '1950. Same model as J7but different shaft. Has famous Swallow Logo.
Black based key are JRC's old KY-3A. These key was designed for professional operator. Small one is JRC's CCK-410. This key was supplied as JRC JST-10A(Hand held HF transceiver)'s genuine option till '1980.
J12. Nakane Electric Practice key
This key was made for who training Morse code in W.W.II. 1940, by Nakane Denki Tokyo.
J13. Popular business use old key
This key is very popular in Japan, like J-38 as in USA. Called, Type 41 No 2.MkII. It was made by Oki Denki(1955 Aug)
J14, J15. Popular business use old key
It was made by Yoga Seikousyo Tokyo(1954). The other one was made by Oki Denki(1955 Aug) All model were produced under same speck.
This key use in tank and airplane (Zero Sen) W.W.II.Very small. With slide brass cover.
This key was designed for only Japan The self defense force. Very solidly built and feels good. I think the best hand key in Japan. Made by Anriｔzu Denki '1963 ,serial No.
These key was made by JS1NSX. Perhaps base design use Hi-mound,very nice looking and feels good. Has heavy weight over 2.0 kg.
This one is Hi Mound NKY-4 for The Self Defense force. The other one is HK-1Z for amateur radio. Perhaps, hard to find out .different contact point. Approx 1960 to 1970.
J22. Japanese Old Style Hand Key in W.W.I.
This key has beautiful marble heavy base with precision mechanical arm. Feels good ,unknown model name. Perhaps this key was used in W.W.I. Nickel plating Navy Key.
These keys were designed for new operator to practice Morse code . Perhaps, used like in telegraph school.('1930 to '1950)
This key is very unusual key. This key has like a seesaw mechanism. Very simple but not so good feeling, and light weight. Black painted wooden base. Manufactured by Oki Denki '1950〜'1960.
This key was trade from JH0GZH. He said this key was used old Japanese ship. Solid and feels so good! Used steal balls.
Unknown special mini key, It was sold on '1960 as Junk in Osaka Japan. Has bearings so mild feeling. Approx 1940.
These key are called post office key in Japan.This one was made in '1995, and 1974.
Original keys were used 1920 to 1950.
This key was designed for practice Morse code. Perhaps used in telegraph school until ,'1930 〜1950, in Japan. (Approx. 1930?)
This key was gifted from JA3OTI who lives in Takarazuka City Japan. I don't know, who made and when it was produced .
Left one is Hi Mound HK-704 US type, middle one is HK-808. Right one is KK-70 by Kenpro. You can still buy them in Ham shop except for KK-70. ( KK-70 Became KK-71 )
Japanese Army Key in W.W.II. It has leaf spring ,so it's very soft touch. Not used in Navy, only in Army.
Teishin Type Practice Key. These type key was produced a lots in Japan. Perhaps this one was used in school in sinner high school. Approx 1930.
J37.J38.J39.J40.J41. Sato keys
Sato (JP) baby keys. It's very cheap. And J-38 Japan made. But I bought this key from USA by the air.
This key can use standard also slant 90°angle. Very nice shape and heavy,( near 3 Kg.) Late model by Hi-Mound. 1994.
J43,J44,J45. Home brew Key(by JN3VOG)
I made these keys! Straight key has ball bearings.
J46. For Old Japan Self Defense Army Pump Key
I got this key from Urawa US trade (Japan) . This key had Disposed from government ( in Hokkaido). Used in Old Japan Self Defense Army. It is impossible to obtain even if in Japan. Brown bake base and has wooden frame, nickel plating brass mechanism. It was engraved Japanese Kanji Character on short circuit frame. Approx '50 to '60. This key was designed based on Japanese Traditional Type 247. They were used to produced 1920〜1950.
J47. MK-702 Sideswipe key by Hi Mound
Marble base good sideswipe key by Hi-Mound. I usually use this key on QSO as sideswipe key. Heavy and rugged design. Most of operator would not to buy. Because this key cloud not to use squeeze paddle. But if you will use this key for sideswipe, it will works very good!

Old Hi Mound late of '50 non Iambic type key. It was used as side swipe key.
Before WWII Old Japnese style straight key. Used Oita Kyusyu Japan self difence airmy 500W transmiter. From JA5QK Mr. Okumura.
J53.Kaji Tushin MK-8 Japanese Straight Key
For ship straight hand KEY. Chrome plated mchanisum. No backrush. Very smooth. Made by Kaji Tushin Kogyo. Model name is MK-8.
J54.Sato Parts with original box. No.3715 .
Old Sato Pars made model No. 3715 straight key. Used to use for morse code key pracitce in Old Japanese Hams. It was very popular straight key in Japan until 1975.
Hi Mound HK-3 Straight key model name is HK-3. It is closely alike to HK-1Z. Same feel.

J56. Denden Koshya relay check KEY
This key was used for check telephone relay box checker. Engraved No. on knob. Very small 2 Inch length.
Used in Japan Self Difence Army. It was made 1975. Mdele No. is5805-309-3450-5. NKY-1A. Same model as J17 but different maker.

Same as J56.
